Playing Hookie

We skipped school today and went downtown for some serious fun.

First, we walked through Santaland at Macy’s and watched the elves working hard.

At the end, we met Santa! And had a “serious chat.”

We also stopped by Mrs. Claus’ bakery and order two polar bears cookies.

Then, we had lunch in the Sky Room of Macy’s. It’s on the 8th floor and so you can watch downtown from above.

After that, we went to the downtown Target. Wow, it was super busy. But we got to put our cart on its own escalator and it rode downstairs next to us. I wish I had taken a picture.

Lastly, we went to the downtown Central Library. Whoa, that library is too big for me. You have to go to different floors for different call numbers. I like being on one floor. Yet, I did like that they had books I hadn’t ever seen at the suburban libraries – Like Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Knitters Almanac. So, yay.

What a fun day.

And I’m glad we played hookie, because we really, really needed to do something special.
